Barry Griffith doesn’t know it yet, but tonight is the night fate has chosen to be the night of his death… his murder. At a gas station in the middle of nowhere, late at night, his wife Jenny appears… no car… no coat and looking older than when he saw her last. That’s because this is not the woman he received a good-bye kiss from this morning. This woman has been a widow for over four years and has made an impossible journey back in time to try to stop her husband’s murder. Will they be able to escape the killers or does fate only have one plan… one possible outcome… ONE WAY?
I have been getting into audiobooks since last year and I quite enjoy listening to them, when I read the synopsis for One Way I had to check it out and see if I would like it or not. And Ohh boy did I ever love and really enjoyed this book. I really don't know what to write down in this review without getting too a spoiler, but you have to listen to this in audiobook in Librivox the narrator is the very own Author Jeff Lane and I thought he did a fantastic job narrating each character. I absolutely love his voice of each his character that he has done it was simply amazing how he voices them. Each character was well developed and rounded the bad guys gave me the creeps and the shivers the both of the bad guys were pure evil and cold-blooded that I just shiver just thinking about them. The plotline and concept of the book were very intriguing and engaging I just couldn't get enough of the book, I need to find out more and what happens next to these amazing characters until the end. My emotions were on high with everything that Barry and Jenny Griffith were going through in One Way. I especially felt horrible and teared up quite a few times on what Jenny Griffith was going through and I tell you I don't cry or teared up in books easily. Jenny was such a strong, loving and kind soul of a woman that she would absolutely do anything to save her loved ones especially her loving husband Barry. Barry is also strong, loyal to the fault but he is also extremely protective of his loved ones especially his wife Jenny, he made a promise to his wife and he was going to keep that promise to his loving wife even though he had to go to the extreme to keep that promise for Jenny. The ending was just a great and perfect HEA for both Barry and Jenny Griffith! All and all I thoroughly loved and enjoyed One Way that I won't be the last book that I will read by Jeff Lane, I can't wait to listen to more books by Jeff Lane in the near future!
Jeff Lane is the author of the Champion Saga (This Paper World, This Burning World), ONE WAY, and The Three Scrooges as well as various screenplays and short stories. Jeff Lane lives in New Hampshire, USA with his wife and children. A film adaptation of his novel ONE WAY is currently in post-production. He likes to make interesting combinations and arrangement with letters of the alphabet until they make exciting stories appear in your head… and hopefully a smile appear on your face. Did it work?
