Simple. Neat. Orderly.
A place for everything, and everything in its place.
Karmen Handel’s life growing up had been anything but quiet and simple. A deadbeat father, a mother who never wanted her, and a grandmother who could care less were the perfect recipe to ensure Karmen built a wall around herself and never let anyone in. When her past comes back to haunt her, Karmen has no one to help her. Until Nickel.
Complicated. Dirty. Restless.
Live to ride. Ride to live.
Nickel Cunningham lives free with the brothers he calls family and has never craved anything more until he met Karmen. The shy, quiet nurse who cares for his grandma caught his eye months ago, and he hasn’t been able to get her off his mind since. Nickel knows what he wants, but he’s never had to fight for it before. Until Karmen.

*** I received this book by the author in exchanged for an honest review, thank you so much to Winter Travers for the opportunity to read and review Nickel (Fallen Lords M.C. Series, Book 1)! ***

This is actually the first time I have read a book by Winter Travers and it won't be my last, I really like and enjoy Nickel a lot, I didn't love it per say. But I thoroughly like and enjoy it a lot to continue on reading more of this awesome Fallen Lords M.C. Series. Now I only read just a few M.C. books and I was pleasantly surprise on how much I love this troupe. It has become one of my favorite troupe so far in adult romance novels. Nickel was totally different from the other M.C. books I have read, which I absolutely like that aspect of the book. Not to say I didn't love the other M.C. books I read which I did love them. But it is that Nickel was totally different from the other books which caught me off guard and kept me hooked line and sinker reading Nickel that I kept on thinking more and more about it when I put it down. This book was always on my mind while I was doing other things in life and I always wanted to get back to it to see what happens next too Nickel and Karmen. And when a book does that too me I know I will like and enjoy it enough to continue on with the series. Now I know I say I didn't love this book per say but this book was really refreshing and very addictive to me, that I couldn't stop thinking about it. And I still can't stop thinking about it after I finish reading it a couple of days ago, because I want to know and learn more about The Fallen Lords and there girls and why the M.C. have to do some secret drop off and what not. I just need to know and learn more about this series that I can't shake the feeling that things are going to go down but for the worst for the Fallen Lord M.C. I just can't explain it to you why I feel this way about this specific book but I just do. If any of you have ever felt the same way I feel about this book you know what I mean. There has been only a few books that has done that to me and none of them where from the few favorite books that I have read done this to me. Nickel was a rare gem book for me and it caught me totally off guard but in a good way. Now I don't want too go into any details about this great book, because I don't want to spoil anything for other readers. But if you like M.C. books and if you have read any other books by this author you should most definitely check this one out. If not I still say please check it out it might surprise you. I now there are going to be some readers who are not going to like this book and that's absolutely alright every readers has a right too there opinion. But I really did and thoroughly like and enjoyed Nickel so much that I can't wait too read more from this series and more books by Winter Travers as well.

“You got plans tonight?” I was done chasing this chick. It was time to get straight to the point.

“You say that a lot, babe.”
“What?” she asked, confused.
“You say um a lot.”
“Oh, I guess I never noticed.” She stood there staring at me.
“Plans? You got any tonight?”
“Um.” She realized she said um again and blushed red, as her eyes darted down. “No plans.”
“You ever been to Shake the Lake?”
“Once, when I was seventeen. I didn’t get to see the fireworks, though.”
I reached out to grab my keys but grabbed her hand instead. “Come with me tonight,” I pleaded, our eyes locking.
She tried to jerk her hand out of my grasp, but I tightened my grip. “I can’t,” she insisted.
“Sure you can. You just told me you don’t have plans.”
“Um, I forgot that I have to go to…um…badminton practice,” she stuttered.
“Badminton practice?”
I didn’t think she could blush anymore, but her cheeks turned a dark shade of red, and she nodded yes. “I felt that I needed to broaden my horizons and figured that would be a good place to start.”
“Well, how about you broaden your horizon with me tonight, and you can pick back up with your badminton practice next week?”
