Author Interview:

1. Describe your book in ten words or less. A genre-crossing epic romance with contemporary and erotic elements.

2. What genre is your book? It’s overwhelmingly contemporary romance with elements of romantic suspense, political and literary fiction, and speculative fiction.

3. What draws you to this genre? I wanted to write a book set in a not too distant and unsettling future in which the hero and heroine were a bit older. There are a ton of highly compelling YA dystopian reads but I wanted something that had a bit more of a It Can’t Happen Here flair to it (note: Sinclair Lewis wrote that novel in the 1930s,detailing what would happen if a fascist were allowed to be elected president).

4. Where do you get information or ideas for your book? I’ve had the two main characters in my saga (Jack and Caroline) in my head for years, with no real vehicle for them. I ate some bad BBQ and had a dream about them as freedom fighters bravely going up against a totalitarian regime. The plot has evolved over time but that little bit of mind magic certainly gave me a good start!

5. When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? I’ve been writing ever since I was a small child, but let that creativity drift as I went through law school and the beginning of my legal career. Thankfully it has remained or I wouldn’t have been able to dive head-first into this series.

6. Do you write full-time or part-time? Right now I write/work as an author full-time. I started writing the series in November 2013 when I was still employed as an attorney. I plan on going back to my legal career at some point but for now I am doing my best to stay occupied with the Bellator Saga!

7. Do you have any favorite authors or favorite books? I reread The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood and every Harry Potter book annually. I also love Tiffany Reisz, Madeleine L’Engle, and Ellen Emerson White.

8. What book/s are you reading at present? Mother Before Wife by Melissa Brown.

9. What is your favorite quote? "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." – Albus Dumbledore

10. What's next for you? What are you working on now? I’m working on the last three books in the series, all of which will be released in 2016. After that, who knows? ;)
Thank you so much Cecilia London for your time and interview!
